Position Summary
The Regional People & Culture Lead provides both strategic leadership and hands-on HR support to MEDA country offices across WCA and ESA regions. The role involves:
- Implementing HR strategies, policies, and processes
- Advising regional leadership on HR and business solutions
- Supervising and coaching Country People & Culture Managers
- Ensuring compliance with employment laws and HR policies

Key Responsibilities
HR Business Partnering (40%)
- Partner with Regional Directors and Country Managers to support HR and business goals
- Lead recruitment, onboarding, and employee lifecycle management
- Guide managers on employee relations, performance, and engagement
- Support global employee engagement initiatives and surveys
HR Leadership (30%)
- Provide leadership and guidance to Country P&C Leads
- Ensure HR compliance across region
- Stay updated on employment laws and best HR practices
P&C Operations (15%)
- Maintain accurate HRIS data
- Support HR budgeting and operational processes
- Manage employee relations cases confidentially
Compliance & Policy Implementation (15%)
- Implement HR policies and programs
- Ensure legal compliance in all country offices
- Support country-level policy rollout and track acknowledgements
Requirements
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or equivalent from a recognized institution.
Experience
- 7–9 years of progressive HR / People & Culture experience
- Proven experience in HR business partnering, employee relations, and operations
- Experience working in multi-country or regional HR environments
- Prior leadership or supervision of HR teams is an advantage
Skills & Competencies
- Fluent in English (French is a plus)
- Strong knowledge of HR operations and employment laws
- Leadership, coaching, and conflict resolution skills
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel & PowerPoint)
