JOB VACANCIES ANNOUNCEMENT – LUDEWA DISTRICT COUNCIL

The Executive Director of Ludewa District Council invites suitably qualified Tanzanians to apply for eight (08) vacant posts within the Council after receiving employment approval from the President’s Office – Public Service Management and Good Governance (PO-PSMGG).

AVAILABLE POSITIONS

1. DRIVER GRADE II – 4 POSTS

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Inspecting the vehicle before and after trips to ensure safety and roadworthiness.
  • Driving staff to various official and work-related destinations.
  • Performing minor vehicle maintenance.
  • Collecting and distributing official documents.
  • Recording and maintaining all trips in the vehicle logbook.
  • Ensuring cleanliness of the assigned vehicle.
  • Performing any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Holder of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE – Form IV).
  • Possession of a valid Driving License Class E or C.
  • At least one (1) year driving experience without causing accidents.
  • Relevant driving training certificates qualifying for the respective license class.
  • Completion of a Basic Driving Course from VETA or any other Government-recognized institution.

2. OFFICE MANAGEMENT SECRETARY GRADE II – 4 POSTS

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Typing routine and confidential letters, reports and documents.
  • Receiving visitors, attending to their concerns and directing them appropriately.
  • Maintaining records of events, appointments, visitors, meeting schedules and official trips.
  • Retrieving files and documents required for daily office operations.
  • Receiving and distributing files to relevant departments or units.
  • Collecting, filing and returning documents to their respective locations.
  • Preparing briefs and making arrangements for meetings.
  • Preparing lists of office equipment and supply requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Holder of Form IV or Form VI education.
  • Diploma in Secretarial Studies or NTA Level 6 Certificate in Secretarial Studies.
  • Proficiency in Kiswahili and English shorthand at a speed of 100 words per minute.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Windows, Internet, E-mail and Publisher from a Government-recognized institution.

GENERAL CONDITIONS

  1. Applicants must be Tanzanian citizens aged not more than 45 years.
  2. Applicants must attach a copy of their Birth Certificate.
  3. A detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV) with reliable address, phone numbers and referees.
  4. Copies of academic and professional certificates must be uploaded through the Ajira Portal.
  5. Testimonials, Provisional Results and Statements of Results are not accepted.
  6. Applicants for Driver Grade II with Class E or C license must attach relevant driving training certificates.
  7. Applicants must upload a recent passport size photograph on the Ajira Portal.
  8. Applicants educated outside Tanzania must have certificates verified by TCU, NECTA or NACTE.
  9. Applicants dismissed from Public Service are not eligible unless permitted by the Chief Secretary.
  10. Current public servants in entry-level positions are not allowed to apply as per Government Circular dated 30 November 2010.
  11. Submission of forged information or documents will result in legal action.
